About The Cold Sisters
A ring of low, weathered stones on a shoulder of open fell, one standing taller than the rest and one long fallen. Nobody knows who raised them, so the valley made up its own answer.
The story is the one told of stone circles all over the north: a company of sisters who would not go home when they were told, and were turned to stone where they stood. Count them twice, people say, and you will not get the same number.
